Deepfakes, which exploit generative models of faces and voices, are a topic of worldwide demand for countermeasures. We have pioneered this issue, developing a deepfake video detection tool and commercially licensing it to several companies. In our AIP acceleration research, we will make the detection technology multimedia compatible and introduce machine learning methods to track newly emerging unknown deepfakes. We will also conduct basic research into active defense, which considers countermeasures from the stage before media is generated.
