Biography

Surbhi Madan is a Project Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Institute of Informatics, Japan. She received her Ph.D. in 2025 from the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, India, under the co-supervision of Prof. Abhinav Dhall and Prof. Ramanathan Subramanian. Her Ph.D. research focuses on multimodal human behavior understanding in group and dyadic interaction settings, with an emphasis on explainable models for emotion, personality, and gaze-based analysis. She has worked extensively on video-based social signal processing, including the development of annotated datasets and attention-based deep learning models for interpretable predictions.
